In this exclusive 2-hour experience, you will not only explore some of the city’s most iconic, hidden, and personal favorite spots, but you will also be the main model in a stunning photography session led by a local professional photographer whose work has been published in world-renowned magazines.
This is not just a tour, and not just a photoshoot it’s the perfect fusion of both. As we wander through the heart of Oaxaca, I’ll guide you to my carefully curated locations: iconic landmarks filled with history, colorful backdrops bursting with life, and even a few secret corners that only a local photographer would know. Each setting becomes the stage for your portraits, where we will create powerful, artistic, and authentic images together.
You don’t need to be a professional model. Whether you’re traveling solo, as a couple, or with friends, I will guide you through natural and flattering poses, helping you feel confident and at ease in front of the camera. My goal is to bring out your unique personality so every photo reflects who you truly are. From candid moments to striking portraits, each image will feel like a piece of art.
Along the way, you’ll also get a deeper sense of Oaxaca itself. I’ll share stories and insights about the city’s rich culture, architecture, and traditions. The experience becomes more than just taking pictures it’s about living Oaxaca through photography, turning every street into a canvas and every moment into magic.
With years of experience working with international publications, I bring the same level of care and professionalism to your shoot as I do for magazine assignments. Meet your Host, Juan Pablo Barba
Juan Pablo Barba is a highly skilled and passionate freelance Mexican photographer and avid traveler who has garnered acclaim for his work with prestigious publications such as National Geographic, Playboy, Maxim, and GQ, as well as Mexico Desconocido, among others.
With a deep appreciation for Mexican culture and its people,
he is traveling throughout the Mexican Republic capturing its most important cultural aspects and traditions for his upcoming photobook.
Currently based in Oaxaca, Juan has been passionate about photography since childhood, undertaking numerous courses to remain up-to-date with the latest trends and techniques in photography.
In addition to his photography work, Juan also experiences great joy from teaching photography to both national and international students.
Where we'll be
We will begin our photo-walk tour on the esplanade of the famous "La Cruz de Piedra" at the Coffee store El Volador.
During the tour we will stop and take photos in important and emblematic places.
